Idrociclone

A hydrocyclone is a highly efficient device used for the separation, classification, and dewatering of particles in a liquid suspension based on their size, density, and shape. It operates on the principle of centrifugal force, which is generated by the rapid rotation of the liquid within the cyclone. As the slurry spirals downward, the centrifugal force causes the denser and larger particles to move toward the outer wall and eventually exit through the underflow. Adjusting these parameters allows for precise control over the separation efficiency and cut point, which is the particle size at which 50% of the particles report to the underflow and 50% to the overflow.Hydrocyclones are commonly used in mineral processing to separate valuable minerals from gangue, in the oil and gas industry to remove sand and other solids from drilling fluids, and in water treatment plants to clarify water by removing suspended solids.
